Red, White and Blue Sangria Mocktail

IMG_0779.JPG

Yes, Sangria’s are usually made with wine, but let’s let the kids enjoy this special treat also! This patriotic Red, White, and Blue Sangria is a “mocktail” for everyone to enjoy. Made with white grape juice, raspberries, blueberries, and apples that have been cut into star shapes. It’s a great way to sneak some healthy fruit in for the kids! …with the fun star shapes, how could they resist this tasty and festive drink?

Let’s begin!

Ingredients:

IMG_0777.JPG
  • 2 Quarts white grape juice

  • 1 pint blueberries

  • 1 pint raspberries (or strawberries)

  • 2-3 apples, I used Grannie Smith

  • Juice from 1 large lemon

  • Small star-shaped cookie cutter

This recipe makes one pitcher full.

Instructions:

First, juice your lemon into a shallow bowl, then slice your apples 1/4” thick and use star-shaped cookie cutter to make shape.

After making each shape, immediately put into the bowl and let soak in lemon juice, to keep from turning brown. (The method I used, was to put in on one side, immediately flip to the other side and leave in bowl till needed.)

Wash your blueberries and raspberries thoroughly in cold water.

Add all fruit into pitcher and pour grape juice till full. Cover and place in fridge overnight. Serve over ice, if desired.
