Cheesy Pretzel Broomsticks

Halloween or Hocus Pocus Party Food

Who doesn’t love a classic combo of cheese and salty pretzels? These Cheesy Pretzel Broomsticks are a perfect snack during a Halloween party or maybe just a fun lunch time snack to send with the kiddos for a fun surprise they can eat. Spooky can be fun and delicious….and easy! These Cheesy Pretzel Witch Broomsticks are made with just three ingredients: string cheese, pretzel rods and green onions. Shown above, I used with an array of mini charcuterie board individual appetizers.

Let’s begin!

Ingredients:

IMG_0356.jpg
  • String cheese (I used mozzarella)

  • Pretzel rods

  • Green onions

Each string cheese makes two broomsticks, so plan according.

Instructions:

Cut each string cheese in half.

Push a pretzel rod into the center of one side of the string cheese half, only halfway, to allow for cutting other half.

Using a knife or kitchen scissors, cut small 1/8 inch slices all around. I cut 4 slices all the way through, then turned 1/4 turn and cut 4 more to create the broom bristle effect.

Next, cut about a 5-6 inch section of the green onion stem off and tie around top of string cheese near pretzel half.

You’re all done! Easy peasy and yummy cheesy.

I made this fun mini charcuterie board, perfect for individual party guests and added a festive spider ring for a spooky touch.
