Easy Hot Apple Cider

Fall is here, and it’s the season of so many wonderful things. Watching the trees turn their brilliant colors of red, orange, and yellow, gathering around a fire on crisp evenings, taking a trip to pick apples or visiting a pumpkin patch are all things I enjoy during this exciting season.

With cooler weather heading this way, there’s nothing better than sipping on some delicious Apple Cider to warm you up. Try my recipe for Easy Hot Apple Cider made with help from instant apple cider mix, along with real apple and orange slices and the lovely warm spice from cinnamon sticks and cloves. Done in only 45 minutes and will fill your home with a blissful autumn scent. (added bonus!)


Let’s begin!

Ingredients:

  • 4 individual packs of Instant Apple Cider (.74oz/21g each)

  • 5 cups water

  • 1 apple, cored and sliced

  • 1 orange, sliced (peel still attached)

  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks

  • 4-5 whole cloves

Instructions:

Add water and instant apple cider mix to a medium saucepot and stir together.

Then add all other ingredients to pot and heat to a boil.

Boil for one minute, stir, then reduce to low and simmer for 30 minutes.

Strain and serve, or use a ladle to pour into glasses. You may leave to simmer for up to 2 hours for a stronger cider.

Garnish each glass of cider with an orange slice and cinnamon stick.

For an adult “Hot Toddy” version, add a splash of bourbon to your glass.

Easy Apple Cider
